Throwin’ In—Remax Under 8 game report for August 19, 20009
Submitted By John Adams on Wednesday, August 19, 2009
Short bodies at game time again, it was another Iron Man game for Remax as they took on Boston Pizza. Would the Big Blue be able to duplicate their first victory of the season, another Iron Man game against those same Pizza slingers, or would the BP’ers and their extra bodies triumph?

Remax got off to a great start with Nathan Troke and Amelia Arcisewski charging into the Pizza zone and Nathan delivered a great strike to the twine. Moments later James Adams’ goal kick found Arciszewski on the sideline and she threaded a fantastic pass to Troke who yet again hammered it home to put Remax up 3-0 after a lightening start. Joanne Page and Kevin Coady worked a great kickoff play into the Pizza zone, but were shut down by the BP defence. A number of free kicks were exchanged, and before you knew it, Remax had hopped out to a 4-1 lead. Fatique started to take a toll on Remax as the half wound down, and the fresh legs of the Boston Pizza team subs wrecked havoc on the Remax defence, charging back with 3 unanswered goals of their own to tie the game at 4 at the half.
Remax charged forward again after the half when Adams and Arciszewski teamed up yet again to spring Troke with a pass, and struck for another goal to go up 5-4. Shortly after that, the pace being set by Boston Pizza’s fresh legs really knocked the wind out of Big Blue’s sails. Noah Page and Lindsay Gibson made some great stops on initial pressure, but the BP strikers were relentless. Four unanswered goals by BP’s resulted in a 8-5 loss for our final regular season game. It has been a great season, and now onto the tournament guys! Throwin In with Remax, I’m John F. Adams.
