Game two of the season, saw the Boston Pizza squad travel to take on the Tiverton All-Blacks with coach Gibson and Dunham running the show. The weather threatened to cancel the contest, but at last moment the clouds parted and Boston Pizza escaped with an 8-2 victory improving their record on the season.
Goals were credited to: Aidan(birthday boy)Berkman (1), Liam(2), Isaiah(4) and Rose(1)Assists went to: Emma(1), Aidan(birthday boy)Berkman (1), Liam(1) and Cale(1)Reilly and Liam combined for the win between the posts, with Liam shutting out the side.Game three of the season would see the Bosotn Pizza club return home for a 6 game home-stand.First on the list would be strong Ripley team, Get Cracking. Boston Pizza was on the attack early, and would be first to open the scoring at 1-0. Ripley would respond by carrying the play against a disorganized Boston Pizza team and score 3 unanswered goals. With time running down on the first half, the game would see Bosotn Pizza erase Ripley's lead in two swift strikes of the boot. Unfortunately a short time later Ripley would score another goal to re-take the lead at half. After a quick pep talk and a small feed of orange slices, our Boston Pizza team took to the field with a sense of determination and a will to win the game, scoring three unanswered goals of their own and shutting out the Ripley squad in the second half. The Boston Pizza coaches and parents were very proud of our young athletes and the way they dug deep to sacrifice for the win. A great start to the beginning of the season!!!Goals would be awarded to: Liam(3), Nolan(1) and Isaiah(2)Assists: Cale(1) and Rose(2)The win in net was shared by Jessie and McKinna who shut out Ripley in the second half.
