Crabby Joe’s U8 fifth game of the season was held under sunny skies on Field 4 against strong Coffee Culture.
Connor Smith was awarded the honour of protecting the Crabby Joe’s net throughout the first half and he filled the order completely. Only one goal broke through Crabby’s solid defence despite many intense attacks by Coffee Culture’s strikers.
The half was well played by both teams with accurate passing, competent steals and exciting drives to the net. Jordan Moulton left the others in the dust to score Crabby’s first and only goal of the half. The score was tied by Coffee Culture just before the half-time break .
The change of ends saw Annika Luinsta in net for the hungry Crabby group. Second half play was concentrated in the Coffee Culture end but Crabby's offensive attacks failed to close the gap. Two penalty shots on the on the Coffee Culture net did not get by the focused blocker. Annika diverted most of Coffee Culture’s attempts to widen the score but Zach #20 booted in 3 goals throughout the half to give Coffee Culture a solid 4-1 lead.
Georgia Tanner was repeatedly looking to add to Crabby’s score throughout the game and was finally rewarded the last goal of the game bringing the score to 4-2. Awesome game kids. You ROCK.
