Home Hardware vs Canadian Tire U12G Soccer
Submitted By stiu on Thursday, July 08, 2010
Thunder clouds loomed over head as Home Hardware and Canadian Tire girls U12 teams prepared to take the field. Everyone hoping the game would not be cancelled and that the lightning would stay away (and it did). The first half saw Canadian Tire score first although the posession was very balanced. Home Hardware responded with a few minutes left in the first half to make it a tie game 1-1.
In the second half, the tough battle resumed between these rivals. If you remember, the last game was won by Home Hardware. The coaches remained enthusiastic, shouting encouragement from the sidelines. Again in the second half Canadian Tire scored first on a penalty kick awarded for a hand ball in the box. They were given another opportunity on a free kick but missed wide. I would have though that the Home Hardware would be disheartened but they played on even harder than before. It seemed that victory would belong to Canadian Tire when Natasha Adler booted in her second goal of the game to tie up with less than one minute remaining. It was fitting end for a hard fought game. Congratulations to both teams on a game well played.
