Match report for Sleepers
Bed Gallery vs Spine Whisperer (Hanover)
1st July 2010, at the Davidson Centre, Kincardine
Within the first five minutes
of the game, Hanover
got the ball past Brett to score, leaving us 1-nil down very quickly. We tried to get back straight away after a
good corner and shot, but their goalie caught it. Samuel did a great kick that seemed to have
crossed the line, but the goalie stopped it.
We had a couple of other corners, but just couldn’t get it in the back
of the net! Brett defended really well
though, keeping another couple of shots out of our goal.
Then, after nearly half an hour of play, we got our teamwork going well, and Andrew shot the ball right at the net, helped in by one of their defenders. Two minutes later that excellent team play led Andrew to score another sweet goal, 2-1 to us.
Just before half time Hanover nearly scored, but Brett managed an epic save, and thanks to great midfield work by Kyle and Raven getting the ball in position, Ben was able to score nicely to make us 3-1 up at half time.
The beginning of the second half saw some beautiful play by Raven, who was really on the ball today. Virat’s always reliable solid defence was strong as well. Soon the great teamwork of Kyle, Andrew and Will up front paid dividends and Will scored neatly to make it 4-1 to us.
Hanover desperately tried to get back, and Danny had to make some strong saves to keep their goals away, but he was well on form and they didn’t manage to score. Ben, Kyle and Marcel did some great footwork to try and get us another goal, and Will very nearly scored in the last minute but it was saved, and then the whistle blew on another victory : 4-1.
