Go Glass meets Godfather Walkerton Team June 16
(written by Mary Ritter) It was cold. It was raining. It was windy. Go Glass overcame these challenges with enthusaism which ended in a 7-2 victory against Walkerton on Wednesday night.
The first goal was a combination play from JP Catelo to Derrick Bernath to Aiden Calcutt 10 minutes into the game against Walkerton. Walkerton, a few minutes later, had an unsucessful penalty kick on Kincardine's goalie (Nikhil). Walkerton then scored with 15 minutes left to play in the first half. Kincardine rebounded with Jesse Lynch scoring with an assist from JP Catelo. Kincardine scored again when JP Catelo passed the ball to Aiden Lynch who then shot the ball past the Walkerton goalie. The first half ended in a 3-2 score in favour of Kincardine.
The second half began with an assisted goal from Taylor Casciano to JP Catelo. Both teams found the turf slippery and difficult to maintain control of the ball due to the wind. Joshua Murphy scored the fifth goal 7 minutes later on behalf of Kincardine. The sixth goal was a successful play by Jesse Lynch who drove through the Walkerton defences. Finally, JP Catelo achieved the final goal by sliding the final goal past the Walkerton goalie. The final score was 7 to 2 in favour of Kincardine. The game ended...it was cold. It was raining....and it was windy!
