2020 Season Update--May 20, 2020 Edition
Submitted By John Adams on Wednesday, May 20, 2020
On behalf of the soccer executive, here is our update on the status of the 2020 season as of Wednesday, May 20, 2020.
Today we were notified by the OSA, our governing body, that field use restrictions for sanctioned activities have changed to allow for players to participate in warm up activities, but that under the new restrictions there are to be no more than 5 players on the field at a time.

While this is a step in the right direction for conditioning of our players, it, sadly, still means that our basic organization activities--practices and games, are still banned under the OSA rules as these activities would be over the allowed number of authorized participants.
In addition, as of this posting, all Kincardine soccer field access remains closed by municipal order until June 30th. This means that even with the new guidelines from OSA, there are no fields available for us to be able to use.
Your executive council is now meeting with our governing associations, as well as municipal leaders, and other area clubs, in order to get a the most definitive answers on what are the next steps for either planning, or cancellation of the 2020 season given the most recent updates provided at municipal, provincial and national health officer directives and government restrictions.
We understand that our players, coaches, and parents are all anxious to have this situation resolved, as are we. It is in that vein that we have made a resolution to honor the deadline of June 1st as indicated as the strongest date chosen by our membership to make a decision about our upcoming season. As we are sure you can appreciate, the pandemic situation has added additional stresses to all of us, and we are steadfastly working towards our final declaration of the season status to share with you all, one way or the other, on June 1st.
Thank you
KDMSC Executive
