A maximum number of players can be on an approved roster and dressed for a game. The numbers vary for each league and age group. Please view the appropriate league by-laws, rules and regulations for the updated numbers (Links above).
In Grassroots soccer (U13 and under), a player can only be rostered to one team. There is a maximum number of minutes players in each age group can play per week, please review the Canada Soccer guidelines for this information. Players can also only have one competition day per week according to the Canada Soccer guidelines (this may impact call-up players).
A team may have as many practice players as they feel are manageable or necessary. Practice players must be an active player for that season under KMS or another District accredited Club. The Head Coach should work with the KMS Competitive Director to confirm a non-rostered players status. Practice players are not eligible to play in games unless the proper approvals for them to play are gained. In Grassroots ages players can only be rostered to one team. All players must have a valid ID Player Card or Digital ID card. EMSA requires a photo for all staff to be added to the Digital ID cards. EMSA reviews and approves all rosters prior to the season. Upon approval KMS will provide the Team Manager with an EMSA approved pdf copy of the final approved roster.
Call-ups
A call-up player has to be of the same birth year as the other players on the team and come from a Recreational team (for example, House League or Lake Shore League for KMS). This is further explained in detail in a District League Rules and Regulations manual release yearly and found on their website.
Each player called up to a competitive team can play in a maximum number of games each season. Please review the rules and regulations of your league prior to calling players up.
