Coaches/Staff Code of Conduct

  • I will remember that players participate for their enjoyment and that winning is only part of the fun.
  • I will never ridicule or yell at players for making a mistake or not winning.
  • I will be reasonable in my demands of a players time, energy and enthusiasm.
  • I will operate within the rules and spirit of the game and teach my players to do the same.
  • I will avoid overplaying the talented players and understand that the average players need and deserve equal time.
  • I will not use bad language, nor will I harass players, officials, spectators or other coaches.
  • I will display control, respect and professionalism to all involved with the sport including opponents, referees, coaches, the media, parents and spectators. I will encourage my players to do the same.
  • I will show concern and caution towards sick or injured players and follow the advice of a physician when determining whether an injured player is ready to resume play or training.
  • I will respect the rights, dignity and worth of all the people involved in the game, regardless of gender, ability or cultural background. I will not arrive at a venue intoxicated, nor will I consume alcohol at any venue.



Compliance with Governing Rules

For the purposes of this policy, Team Staff includes any individual officially rostered or appointed as a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Manager, or other recognized team official. It also includes any individual who, whether formally appointed or not, is acting on behalf of, representing, organizing, recruiting for, or otherwise acting in the interests of an existing or prospective team.

All rostered players, Team Staff, volunteers, and individuals acting on behalf of an existing or prospective team must comply with all applicable rules, policies, procedures, directives, and requirements of Kincardine Minor Soccer, the governing District Association, Ontario Soccer, and any league or competition in which the team participates or intends to participate.

This requirement applies to all soccer-related activities involving an existing or proposed team, including player recruitment and registration, assessments and tryouts, player movement or play-up requests, team formation, roster management, games, tournaments, exhibitions, practices, travel, and communications made on behalf of the team or Club.

No individual may make commitments, representations, arrangements, or decisions concerning a team or prospective team that are contrary to, or intended to circumvent, applicable Club, District, league, or Ontario Soccer rules, policies, procedures, or approval requirements.


Kincardine & District Minor Soccer reserves the right to approve, decline, suspend, remove, or rescind the appointment of any Team Staff member who does not comply with the Club’s Code of Conduct, governance requirements, or the applicable rules and policies of Kincardine & District Minor Soccer, the governing District Association, Ontario Soccer, or the applicable league or competition.
