New Rule for U8 and U10 effective June 9--please read
Submitted By John Adams on Thursday, June 5, 2014
There have been 2 rules changes made for our Mini-Soccer house leagues that we need to let coaches, referees, players and parents know about.

Law 4 – Players Equipment

Goalkeepers can wear bibs/pinnies

Law 16 – Goal Kick:

The ball can be kicked from any point within the penalty box (i.e the keeper/kicker does not have to put it on the 6 yd line)

All opponents must be behind the retreat line and cannot cross the retreat line until the ball is

o Touched by a player of the team taking the goal kick or
o Leaves the field of play or
o Goes over the retreat line
o The ball is in play once it leaves the penalty area

Retreat Line – the retreat line is the half way line and players will retreat to there when a goal kick is being taken or the keeper saves the ball (i.e in the keeper hands).

In the case of a save the following rules will apply:

Goalkeeper Saves the Ball: (and has control)

All opponents must be behind the retreat line and cannot cross the retreat line until the ball is

o Released by the goalkeeper or
o Leaves the field of play or
o Goes over the retreat line
o The ball is in play once it leaves the goalkeepers hands (even in the penalty area)

We would ask that all participants work together with the coaches and referees as we work at adjusting to these new changes.

Thank you
KDMSC Executive
