March Kincardine Minor Soccer Updates
Submitted By John Adams on Tuesday, March 12, 2019
In hopes of clearing up some questions, our executive committee would like to update everyone on how our 2019 Season is shaping up, including an update on our all new All Girls Division for U8/U10 house leagues

The call will be coming out soon for volunteers as we will need coaches for all of our teams again this year. If you are interested in helping out, please be sure to forward your information to [email protected] indicating what age group you are interested in helping out with. It is also helpful if you would indicate if you have a child in that age group, as well as any coaching credentials you already are certified in, if any. All our age groups can use some help in this regard.

While our early registration has now completed, we are still looking for players in the following age groups—U18 and U20 Mixed squads, as well as the Women’s Open team could use additional players. Limited spots in other age groups can still be filled, but registrations are now subject to additional fees We would also remind everyone that special requests require explanations, and will be subject to review by the entire executive. These requests will only be granted in cases where the majority of the executive feel the request is made in the best interests of our club, players, teams and leagues. This includes, but is not limited to requests to play up, or to play with specific coaches, players or teams.

There is also a need for assistance during our field prep, so again if you are interested in helping out with that, please email your details to [email protected] so we can keep you advised of where and when our field prep will occur.

Regarding the current status of the brand new All Girls Divisions we are fielding for the upcoming 2019 season in our U8 and U10 House League age groups, we have exciting news to share. This introductory year has seen nearly 50 players register who have indicated they would like to play in the All Girls Divisions in these age groups. With those numbers, we have discussed that the option that makes the most sense would be to unite the U8 and U10 divisions under one banner, and we will be looking at four teams being fielded for game play for the season.

We are still working on the logistics of how the season schedule will look, and that will be established once we have finalized registration numbers. On that note—if you registered your daughter for the mixed house league, and would prefer that she play in the All Girls Division, please take a moment to email our registrar at [email protected] with your daughter’s name and birthdate so we can ensure that she has been allocated to the All Girls Division.

At this point that we are leaning toward a united practice night for all teams, and then a second night for the games, with staggered start times--ie one early game at 6 PM, and the second game at 7:15 PM. Tuesday Nights or Thursday nights would be when the games will be played, but again, this is still in progress and these are just our first tentative steps as this division is in a state of flux as we get ready to launch its inaugural season. With the season starting in May, we just want to keep everyone updated on the process to this point, nothing is confirmed yet so we do ask for your patience as this new league comes together.  Thank you for supporting this new program, and we will continue to update the website with information as it becomes available, but if you have further questions please feel free to contact our Vice President, Mark Vandewalle, as he has stepped forward to be the contact person for the executive for this new league. You can reach Mark via the contact us link on our website where he is listed as the Vice President.

As we look forward to the excitement building for our season opening in May, please check our website often for updates as the website is the best source for information. Looking forward to seeing you all for another great season in 2019
