Message from our club President Regarding COVID-19
Submitted By John Adams on Wednesday, April 1, 2020
As we are all aware, the pandemic that is COVID-19 has had far reaching effects beyond what anyone could have expected. Kincardine District Minor Soccer Club has been affected by these events, and I wanted to take a moment just to share with everyone how our soccer season is being altered by the current restrictions at the Federal, Provincial, and Municipal levels of government.

COVID – 19 : Soccer Season 2020

First and foremost, we do want to remind everyone that all our members are expected to abide by the decision to close all parks and recreational spaces. This does include all of the Kincardine area Soccer fields. Please do not use the fields until the ban has been lifted.
Myself and all members of your Kincardine Soccer Executive are closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak as it applies to soccer related activities in line with OSA guidelines.

What does this mean for our Soccer Community this Season:

  • All sanctioned Soccer activities are temporarily suspended as per OSA guidelines.
  • Only when this sanction is lifted will soccer resume.

For further information:

What we are doing right now:

  • We will continue our Season Preparedness for our normal season start so we will be ready to get back on the pitch at the earliest date possible when restrictions are lifted.
  • We will keep you informed of developments as we receive them and as we get closer to the start of the season.

We are just as anxious to see soccer being practiced, played, and cheered on from the sidelines as you are, but at the same time are mindful of the expectations regarding Social and Physical Distancing, as well as the limits being imposed on gatherings of more than 5 people. There will be no practices, skills evaluation days, or other soccer related activities operated under sanction with our club until the current restrictions have been removed. At this point it does appear that our season will be delayed. How long that delay is remains to be seen, so we do appreciate your patience as the club continues to navigate this unprecedented and ever changing situation that we all find ourselves in.

For now, we ask you to all follow the guidelines of Social and Physical distancing, as well as the 'Stay Safe, Stay Home' declaration from the Prime Minister. We will play again, so we look forward to the day when we can once again see you on the soccer field.
