Rostering (Kincardine Minor Soccer)

PrintRostering
The critical step here is knowing what the rosters are in terms of which players and staff.
- For Competitive teams, they define that before the new season begins because of fall tryouts
- For Recreational teams, that isn't known until Exec members sit down and layout the teams.
- Some teams, like Lake Shore League Tier 1 have an evaluation/tryout that takes place at the beginning of May
- Usually a parent that volunteers to coach, gets to have his child on their team.

There are a couple of "rostering" activities that go on... It's a few steps to have rosters in 3 main places.
Rostering for OSCAR
  • This is in "OSCAR" which currently is a free account for the Club on the SportsEngine platform
    • Pools of players or specific teams are created in a "Season"
    • players are "rostered" to those pools or teams
    • these teams, rosters, players, staff are what EMSA and OSA see
    • Recreational teams typically auto approve
    • Competitive teams are subject to EMSA approval
    • KMS doesn't submit players or staff via OSCAR until...
      • Player has paid their fees to KMS
      • Staff has obtained their minimum staff qualifications
        • Community stream for House and Lake Shore Leagues
        • Competitive stream for SDSL or EMDSL
  • Duplicate rosters can be created in order for teams to use the SE App
    • For Recreational play, OSA direction is pools of players
      • All U10 Grassroots players in one pool for example
Rostering for the SportsHeadz App
  • Once players and staff complete club registration (our registration site where we get their info and collect our KMS fees) they will manually get rostered to teams once "KMS" determines what the rosters are for each team
    • players are rostered to the KMS team in SH registration site (different from OSCAR)
    • teams are visible in the SportsHeadz app once the are "launched"
    • at least one coach needs to be added to make it visible
Rostering for the KMS website
  • Once teams are defined and rostered in the Registration site, those players are exported and then imported into the website side
  • Once imported to the website, it create the Player Roster on the website
  • Coaches and staff are also setup to be listed on the website page for the team
  • Adding a coach or manager with a login to the site if they want to use it for a team specific webpage
